Build your Party
There are many classes to choose from and each has something to offer. Spell casters have the unique ability to change class and there are 5 distinct Spell caster classes each with a unique spell book. You must have a Bard and an Archmage in your party.. though you are allowed to figure this out the hard way.
Creating a New Party

The early level strategy is the same as in Volume 1.. gear up asap, stick close to the temple for healing. Keep your best buffs active. Attack first and kill most dangerous foes quickly, the best defense is early victory.
There are not as many static grindable encounters with a Fixed Foe as in Volume 1. There are 3 spots to hunt when you are low level — in the Forest wilderness, in the towns, and in the starter dungeon called Dark Domain.
Moving Party from Volume 1
When you move your Party from Volume 1, you have a few options:
- Full Power Transfer, characters come as they are with inventory intact
- Moderate Power Transfer, characters are reset to level 1, inventory intact
- Full Reset, characters are reset to level 1, inventory cleared
I am choosing Full Power Transfer because I want to minimize the level grind in Volume 2. I have 3 spell casters in my party of 7. All 3 spell casters are maxed out at Level 7 in all 4 spell schools so I will Change Class to Archmage for all 3 right away.
Note that the statistic MAX is upped to 20. Your characters that are already maxed out at 18 will only take 12 more levels to Max at 20. It is not super important that you save scum to get specific attributes unless you are starting New characters.
