MM8 Spell Vendors are few in number and stock spells for many skills at once but with very limited shelf space. The effect of this is more difficulty finding the spells you want compared to MM7.

Spell vendors have a random selection of spells and their stock is determined the first time you enter the map the store is in. The stock refreshes periodically, but not all that often so it is prudent to check spell vendors first thing when entering a map.. if you don’t like the stock, you can restore from autosave and enter the map again.
