MM9 Skills are learned from skillbooks which are found as loot and also purchased in the town Libraries.
Skill Progression: In order to raise your Expertise in a Skill above Novice you need to add Skill Points and find a Teacher. The skill level requirements for each expertise are Expert=4, Master=7, and Grandmaster=10. Note that Master and above are only available to the final 8 classes.
Skill Points are earned when you train new Character Levels at training facilities. You get 5 skill points for each level 2-9, 6 skills points for each level 10-19, and so on–if you reach Character Level 100 you will have 955 Skill Points, way more than you need to complete the game, but go as big as you want.
