Episodes I, II, and III make up the first Wizardry Trilogy. Wizardry 1: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord was released in 1981, thereafter, The Knight of Diamonds, Wizardry 2, was released in 1982, following, Wizardry 3: Legacy of Llylgamyn was released in 1983. All three titles tell the Story of Llylgamyn.

Wizardry IV: The Return of Werdna is a game different from the rest of the wizardry series. Wizardry 4 is played in truth from the perspective of the Werdna, the final boss from Scenario I. This game has a legendary difficulty when played without aid of any maps or guides. Challenge laid. Return of Werdna, released in 1987 on Apple IIe.

Wizardry V: Heart of the Maelstrom dug the way to the second trilogy, introducing many new mechanics in character development and combat.

Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic Forge, Wizardry VI, in 1990. Crusaders of the Dark Savant, Wizardry VII, was released in 1992 and finally, Wizardry VIII was released in 2001.
